Hot off the press – former 2UE reporter to hold court with Raine & Horne

Media release - 4th October, 2013

Roger White returns to real estate after 13-year hiatus

Former 2UE newsreader and Hills District real estate agent Roger White has linked with Raine & Horne Bella Vista/Glenwood, a move that will relaunch his successful property career.

An ex-television commentator with Channel Nine and Seven, and a Winter Olympian, Mr White worked successfully as a real estate agent operating in the Hills District, only returning to the media to cover the Sydney Olympics.

Mr White says his switch from the fourth estate to real estate has been timed to coincide with the surge in values and activity in the Bella Vista and Glenwood real estate markets.

“I recently attended an open home with the Principal of Raine & Horne Bella Vista/Glenwood at 3 Pomegranate Place, Glenwood, which attracted more than 45 groups,” said Mr White.

The immaculate four bedroom family home is ideally positioned on a slightly elevated, north-east facing block in a whisper quiet street, a short stroll to Parklea Primary School, Glenwood’s Swan Lake and reserve/picnic area, and bus services.

"Eight interested groups negotiated over three days resulting in one lucky buyer grabbing the prize,” said Mr White.

Clearly it’s exciting times for the Hills District real estate market, and Mr White is confident the adrenaline surge from listing and selling houses will match the buzz of covering bushfires, bombers and earthquakes.

“It’s like I’ve never left real estate and the adrenaline of being at the open home and making sales is akin to working in a radio newsroom,” said Mr White.

Since 1983, Mr White has covered politics, crime, sports and was a long term court reporter, and was actually covering a trial in Sydney for 2UE when he received an email to invite him to return to the real estate industry.

“Over the course of his illustrious career in journalism, Roger has also covered countless bushfires, was one of the first journalists on the scene after the Newcastle earthquake in 1989 and also comprehensively covered Madeleine Pulver's Mosman collar bomb nightmare two years ago for 2UE, as well as virtually every news agency in the world including CNN and the BBC.”

Clearly, the ex-2UE weekend newsreader brings a wealth of commercial acumen and contacts to Raine & Horne Bella Vista/Glenwood.

“I actually sold Roger’s four bedroom home in Glenwood a few months ago for $625,000, which he bought about 12 years ago for $343,000, so his experience living and working as a real estate agent in the area is a major plus for Raine & Horne Bella Vista/Glenwood.”
