Long-term Raine & Horne employee launches Botany office

Media release - 10 March, 2017

Sydney, NSW (10 March 2017) In a major indication that Raine & Horne’s employees are engaging with the firm’s aggressive expansion plans, long-term employees Paul and Olivia Kosta launched the firm’s new Botany office this week.

Raine & Horne opened 28 offices in 2016, making it the fastest growing real estate network in Australia.

“There are no other real estate brands with a physical office presence in Botany, so this is an opportunity to raise the flag in one of Australia’s most historic suburbs that is also one Sydney’s most exciting real estate markets,” said Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne.

“Others have offices in surrounding suburbs such as Mascot and Rosebery but a shopfront in Botany is a valuable point of difference for Paul, Olivia and Raine & Horne Botany.

“In South Sydney, along the corridor from Redfern to Botany Bay, you’ll find one of the best surviving blends of urban and light industrial uses in Sydney. Suburbs such as Botany, Rosebery, Mascot and Alexandria maintain a strong economic base of employment activity, which cohabitates with old and new residential housing.”

Mr Kosta joined dynamic Raine & Horne Maroubra, which is led by Principal Paul Spanoudakis in 2003. Mrs Kosta, who grew up in Botany, also enjoyed a ten year career in property management with the Maroubra firm.

“Paul Kosta started in property management and for the last 9 years has thrived in sales, achieving many street records,” said Mr Raine.

“For the past decade Olivia has worked in property management at Raine & Horne Maroubra bringing a wealth of knowledge to the table in this highly technical field.

“Having managed a portfolio of over 300 properties, Olivia has a reputation for making sure her client’s assets are well-maintained and positioned to deliver maximum capital growth and cash flow.”

Mr Spanoudakis said he was very proud that Mr and Mrs Kosta have launched Raine & Horne Botany.

“Paul started with me straight out of school and I trained him up in property management and then he moved across to sales,” said Mr Spanoudakis.

“I’ve been delighted to mentor Paul in sales because he has a heart of gold. In 14 years we’ve never had a disagreement. He is like family.

“Nothing was ever too much trouble for Paul and he was always prepared to listen and learn. The proof is in the pudding and he is now a fantastic agent and ready to take on the ownership of his own office, along with Olivia.”

The decision to launch Raine & Horne office, which is located at Shop 1, 1144-1146 Botany Road, Botany, was straightforward, according to Mr Kosta.

“We have been with Raine & Horne for a long time and we believe the firm’s state-of-the-art technology, branding, marketing, training and culture is market-leading. It would have been silly to go anywhere else,” said Mr Kosta.

“Raine & Horne is very supportive, and our Business Support and Development Manager Jennifer O’Brien has been with us every step of the way.

“The longevity of the firm in the south east of Sydney was also a major advantage, along with the fact that Raine & Horne is such a recognisable brand.

Working with Paul Spanoudakis and senior property manager Filomena D’Alessandro at Raine & Horne Maroubra has been a valuable experience for Mr Kosta.

“I’ve learnt everything from Paul and Filomena about real estate sales and property management,” he said.

“Paul and Filomena are exceptional property professionals with valuable knowledge and experience, which has been crucial for the progression of my career.”
