Raine & Horne Mandurah proved the big winner at one of Western Australia’s most prestigious industry awards on Saturday 22nd February.
The real estate firm, located in Western Australia’s second biggest city, dominated the 2013 Raine & Horne Annual Awards at Perth’s Convention and Exhibition Centre, with triumphs in the Top Office (number of sales), Top Auction Office and Marketing categories. It also scored third in the Top Office (Dollar Value) category, finishing behind winner Raine & Horne Bunbury.
Raine & Horne Mandurah’s principal, Peter Vetten, was named the group’s Top Salesperson Principal (Dollar Value) in WA, although the experienced sales ace was beaten into second place in the hotly-contested Top Salesperson (Number of Sales) award by David Dennett from Raine & Horne Rockingham Beach.
According to Mr Vetten, the win in the auction category is very pleasing as it demonstrates a growing acceptance for this mode of property sale in Western Australia.
“Selling a home under the hammer is a well-accepted method for a selling a property in the eastern states and its gaining more recognition here in Western Australia,” said Mr Vetten.
“We sell a small percentage of our homes by auction and for the seller, it can be a faster method of sale than private treaty, where there is no sense of urgency for the buyer to commit to a decision.
“An auction puts a timeline on the buyer to make a buying decision, and therefore we generally achieve decent results for homeowners, whether they sell under the hammer or a short time thereafter.”
Underlining the dominant role that customer care and operational excellence play in the success of Raine & Horne Mandurah, Diana Gilbert was named as the group’s best Office Support, while Raine & Horne North Perth’s Andrea Pragnell grabbed top billing as the Best Front Office Manager in WA.
In his keynote speech at the awards, Angus Raine, Executive Chairman and CEO, congratulated the winners and announced the appointment of Mark Grisdale as the new state manager for the Raine & Horne group in WA.
“We conducted an extensive search, which included meetings with our principals in WA, and we are absolutely delighted that Mark has agreed to join Raine & Horne,” said Mr Raine.
“Mark is a licensed agent with 18 years’ worth of experience working across various WA real estate markets, including Margaret River, Busselton, Broome and more recently Perth’s northern coastal corridor.
“Western Australia is a key market for Raine & Horne, and Mark’s local knowledge and expertise will be critical to driving the growth of our offices, increasing market share and building the breadth of our office network in WA.”
