Mega auctions for Cleveland marks office upgrade

Media release - Cleveland, QLD (18 April 2017)

Mega auctions for Cleveland marks office upgrade

To mark the opening of its brand new office, Raine & Horne Cleveland is hosting a mega auction under the stars from 6 pm on Thursday 20 April.

Raine & Horne Cleveland has moved into a purpose built office at 1/124 Queen Street, Cleveland, and to commemorate the move, 18 properties from a spread of suburbs including Cleveland, Thornlands, Redland Bay, Capalaba, Raby Bay, Upper Brookfield, Rochedale and Victoria Point will go under the hammer.

“A mega auction on this scale is a first for the Cleveland region,” said Jan Goetze, who along with  David Paterson, is a principal of Raine & Horne Cleveland.

“No one is doing in-room auctions in this region and the mega auction sends a message to owners looking for a faster sale that we intend to be the auction leaders.

“We expect about 350 people to attend the auction, which will be held under the stars in the carpark outside our office, and we expect a mix of owner-occupiers and investors to register.”

Mr Paterson said auctions are an effective way of selling property in the Cleveland region.

“To attract 350 people is a phenomenal result and demonstrates that an auction can deliver excellent results for a vendor when marketed correctly,” said Mr Paterson.

“An under the hammer sale creates a sense of urgency for buyers and vendors, with days-on-market for properties sold in Cleveland by auction about 20% shorter than private treaty sales.”

Mr Paterson said the decision to upgrade into a bigger office reflects the growth of the sales and property management teams at Raine & Horne Cleveland.

“Once we are in the new office, we will launch a recruitment drive that will be aimed at employing more locally-based property professionals,” he said.

“It’s exciting times for Raine & Horne Cleveland and this mega auction will not only send a message about the professionalism of our office but also that we are well-placed to help Redland locals achieve their real estate goals.”
