Raine & Horne announces major Pacific expansion

We are intensifying our worldwide expansion with the launch of Raine & Horne Fiji last week.

The Fijian-owned and operated office, which will offer a full suite of real estate services, was launched at an event at the magnificent The Waterfront Hotel, Lautoka, hosted by its directors, C.J. Shergill, Sanjay Krishnan and Aveet Goundar.

A large contingent of local media, and the business and tourism industry elite attended the event. The guests of honour Jone Nakauvadra, Chief Executive Officer, Lautoka City Council and Raine & Horne Executive Chairman, Angus Raine. Angus was joined by his wife Natasha, and their five children. Coincidentally, Natasha Raine’s grandmother was born in Lautoka in 1921, which added a family business footnote to the launch.

Angus also delivered the keynote speech, which you can watch in full by visiting the Raine & Horne Fiji Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/raineandhornefiji/

“This is a very special event for my family. Not only is the fifth generation of the Raine family here tonight. We are a true family business and are excited about the expansion plans that C.J., Sanjay and Aveet have not only for Fiji but the South Pacific too,” said Angus, who has visited Fiji 15 times.

“We also celebrated my father Max’s 80th birthday at Vomo Resort, and my mother Susan’s 70th. Mum and dad also celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Fiji. The country is so special for my family.”

“We are the fastest growing network in Australia and we aim to emulate this globally,” Angus told the launch guests, which numbered close to 150. Apart from the additional offices in the Pacific, Raine & Horne has plans to open more offices in India, Kuwait, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong and Shanghai in the next 12 months. We have recently opened two offices in Dubai.

“Australia is a global leader in the delivery of real estate agency best practice, and Raine & Horne is a global leader in terms of IT, marketing, training and agency systems, so it stands to reason that we are taking an aggressive approach to global expansion.

Angus also pointed to the credentials of C.J. Sanjay and Aveet as critical to the long-term success of the new Fiji operation. “C.J. and Sanjay are both former bankers with a decade or so of real estate experience, and Aveet arrived in real estate in 2014 after a successful career in IT,” said Angus. “In combination, they are the real deal in terms of real estate and business experience, and their team will be trained by Raine & Horne to the highest Australian standards.”

C.J., who worked for Westpac in Australia and Fiji, has been in real estate with a number of major and independent brands since 2006. He established his current real estate business in Lautoka in 2015. “Sanjay, Aveet and I have decided to join Raine & Horne as it’s a recognised real estate brand and we have a long relationship with Bill Russell, the firm’s General Manager of International Business,” he said.

“Importing Raine & Horne’s business practices will prove a big tick with Fijians because Australia has the best consumer protection laws, a sophisticated real estate industry, and very high standards of agency practice, especially in a franchised environment.”

Raine & Horne Fiji has offices in Lautoka and Nandi, and will be opening in Suva, Savusavu and Rakiraki, in Fiji’s cane-belt region. They also have plans to establish offices in Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands and Samoa.
