Raine & Horne empowers consumers and agents with new mobile responsive website

Media release - 24th July, 2015

Superbrand Raine & Horne has launched a new mobile responsive website, delivering more information for consumers and significantly increased flexibility for agents.

“With the growing pervasiveness of video as an online communication tool, the new rh.com.au includes a series of audio visuals on key real estate subject areas,” said Greg Oddy, Raine & Horne’s Business Support & Development Manager (Digital), who led the website development team.

“These videos are targeted at homebuyers, sellers, commercial and residential investors, tenants, and prospective business partners, and are hosted by the likes of television presenter Peter Colquhoun from Better Homes & Gardens and Sandcastles fame.”

In addition to the video content, Raine & Horne has partnered with CoreLogic-RP Data to supply suburb profile data including number of sales, average and median sales prices, and median rental prices, according to Mr Oddy.

Consumers will also have access to a series of online calculators, covering everything from loan repayments to stamp duty.

“Every Raine & Horne office in Australia will also be able customise the look and feel of their office site using home page tiles and modules, while our sales agents and property managers will have their own unique profile page, which includes current listings and sales, their bios, client testimonials, social media links, even individual blogs,” he added.

With the majority of consumers now interacting with the internet by means of a mobile device, the new rh.com.au also features a mobile-first design that meets the needs of the brand’s growing online audience.

“The planning for the new rh.com.au website started in early 2014, and our launch is perfectly timed following Google’s announcement in April that websites which are not mobile-optimised will be penalised in the search rankings,” said Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne.

Effectively, the new rh.com.au website is built for touch-screens, and will automatically re-size depending on the screen size of the mobile device, according to Mr Raine.

“Importantly though, and I stress, the new website still functions just as successfully on a desktop or laptop, said Mr Raine.

“rh.com.au switches seamlessly between devices, delivering a vastly superior consumer and franchisee experience to conventional websites,” he said.

“More significantly, rh.com.au will offer to mobile users all the features traditionally available to desktop users, including high-quality photography and graphics.”

The abolition of navigation tabs at the top of the home page is another key feature, according to Mr Raine, with the site instead constructed of a series of tiles and modules that work in a continuous scroll down the page.

“It provides a much cleaner and more streamlined look to the website and means there are no menu items to choose from, which are more typical of old-school desktop-based websites.”
