Raine & Horne flagship agency dominates industry awards night

Media release - Friday 24th August, 2012

Double Bay office scoops pool again

It’s scored more wins than Black Caviar, but in Melbourne on Tuesday night, real estate powerhouse Raine & Horne Double Bay once again underlined its award-wining reputation as one of Superbrand Raine & Horne’s best performers.

In a glittering event held at the iconic Grand Hyatt, Melbourne on Tuesday 21st August, 2012, Raine & Horne Double Bay, led by principals Martin Maskin, Barry Goldman, Ric Serrao and Mark Goldman, beat off challenges from the likes of Raine & Horne Gladstone and Raine & Horne Darwin, to scoop most of the major office gongs on offer, including Top Office (Number of Sales), Top Office (Dollar Value) and Top Office (Auction Listings).

Mr Serrao grabbed second place in the Top Salesperson (Dollar Value) category and was runner-up in the Top Principal (Number of Sales) behind Raine & Horne Charmhaven’s Andrew Sorensen.

“We’ve come a long way since our foundation as a small office with just four real estate agents in 2001,” says Mr Maskin.

Raine & Horne Double Bay, along with affiliate Raine & Horne Bondi Beach, currently employs around 80 property professionals.

“We never set out to be the number one agency in Sydney – we only ever set out to be the very best that we could,” adds Mr Maskin.

“We have been able to build such a successful business because we have a reputation that is synonymous with quality advice and proven real estate results in the Eastern Suburbs,” says Mr Maskin.

Barry Goldman, who placed fourth in the Top Principal (Number of Sales), and ninth overall in the Top Salesperson (Dollar Value) categories, says his firm’s stellar success in the 2011/12 financial year is closely aligned to Raine & Horne’s rebrand, launched in late 2011.

“Our offices at Raine & Horne Double Bay and Raine & Horne Bondi Beach have been steadily increasing their market share since the network rebranded late last year.

“The strength of our experienced and hard-working team, coupled with the support we receive from the Raine family and the rest of the Raine & Horne network, has given us the edge needed in the highly competitive Eastern Suburbs market.”

With the traditional Spring selling season fast approaching, Mr Goldman is confident the Eastern Suburbs real estate market will enjoy solid results.

“There seems to be more buyers with the mindset that now is the right time to secure a property,” says Mr Goldman.

“It appears that a better than expected reporting season for the share market, and encouraging economic news from Europe, is contributing to improved confidence.

“These factors have promoted greater interest in the Eastern Suburbs real estate market.”

Mr Goldman is also urging homeowners to consider the auction process this Spring.

“Selling your home under auction conditions increases urgency among buyers, and as a consequence days on market can be up to 50% less than homes sold under private treaty conditions,” says Mr Goldman, who confirms auctions represent around 80% of Raine & Horne Double Bay and Raine & Horne Bondi Beach’s sales.

“That said, we could also do with some more listings to meet increased buyer demand.”
