Raine & Horne focussed squarely on Inner Sydney apartment markets
Media release - 6th September, 2016
Superbrand Raine & Horne has launched a major new office to service the rapidly expanding Green Square district in the inner-east of Sydney.
“It is one of Australia’s fastest growing and geographically important centres and Trevor and the team at Raine & Horne Green Square will be a critical part of this growing and expanding community.”
The Green Square development area is 278 hectares and is just 3.5km from the city centre and 4 kilometres from the airport, while the new town centre will be close to the Green Square train station, bordered by Bourke Street to the north and Joynton Avenue to the south.
The district will eventually have 30,500 new dwellings and when completed in 2030, Green Square’s total population may reach 61,000. The district will deliver 21,000 permanent jobs.
“Green Square’s jobs and housing growth, as well as its excellent proximity to the CBD, airport and some of Sydney’s most famous beaches, augurs well for the local real estate market long-term,” said Mr Raine.
A former Commonwealth Bank executive, Mr Back ran an extremely successful international sales and marketing consulting company specialising in the finance industry before launching Waterloo Real Estate in 2009.
“I was drawn to real estate because I see it as a relationship business and I wanted to help change the negative perception about our industry,” said Mr Back.
“Over the course of my life and career I have discovered that everything is about relationships and when someone decides to place their trust in me to sell their property, I am in a privileged position to be able to help them.”
The opportunity to gain a stronger foothold in one of Sydney’s most competitive real estate markets prompted Mr Back to switch to the famous gold and charcoal of Raine & Horne.
“I realised that operating a real estate sales business under our own banner is an onerous undertaking, especially if you’re attempting to stay at the forefront of operating systems, processes and in particular, technology,” said Mr Back.
“Being an independent is also a lonely existence, and my team and I are really looking forward to interacting with other successful and best practice franchisees aligned to Raine & Horne.
“Having said that, Waterloo Real Estate is one of the most successful independent agencies in the Waterloo area and I believe joining Raine & Horne will help take us to the next level and put us front and centre as the Green Square district continues to emerge.”
While Green Square is predominantly an apartment market, Mr Back said his business has the experience to support house owners in suburbs such as Waterloo, Alexandria and Rosebery.
“These suburbs present relatively affordable house prices compared to suburbs closer to the beaches, which will ensure decent price growth long-term,” said Mr Back.
