Raine & Horne Marrickville wins prestigious real estate awards

Leading Inner West property firm Raine & Horne Marrickville landed a stunning 10 awards at the 2010 Raine & Horne NSW/ACT Chairman’s Awards, held at the Westin Hotel, Sydney on Saturday, 19 February 2011.

Leading the way was sales ace Filippo D’Arrigo, who finished fourth in the Top Salesperson category, calculated on dollar value, and grabbed fifth for number of sales.

Raine & Horne Marrickville principal Michael Smith said Filippo was a "five star gentlemen" and added that his outstanding results were also attributable to the award winning team around him.

Mr D’Arrigo was ably supported by Tobi Wyman from Sales Support who grabbed a Chairman’s Award for Excellence, copywriting whiz Maria Hodgson, who won the Creative Copywriting Award and fellow agent Tony Day who was elevated to the elite Chairman’s Club.

“It was an enormous year for the Raine & Horne Marrickville sales team, which recorded a stunning 88% auction clearance rate for 2010,” Mr Smith said. He added that Marrickville’s appeal was also a factor in his team’s success.

“I have been telling people for the past 30 years that Marrickville is a great market. Wherever you live, you are between 6.5km and 9km from Martin Place.

“About 95% of Marrickville’s homeowners and renters work in the CBD and they can get a fast train or express bus to the CBD in under 30 minutes.”

Mr Smith added that his team’s commitment to research was also critical to its successes.

“We have calculated that about 64% of our buyers and investors are from the local area and the Inner West, and this influenced our marketing.

“While the internet is wonderful, it doesn’t hurt to spend some money on advertising in the local newspaper,” he added.

Raine & Horne Marrickville’s property management team also scored a number of awards with Paul Signorelli, Robert Alihodzic, Zoran Nalovski and Michael Fragakis elevated into Raine & Horne’s prestigious Property Managers Chairman’s Club.

“The property management team’s success can be attributed to its superb organisation,” Mr Smith said.

“We have vacancy rates lower than 1% because Paul and the team are working on finding new tenants for our rental properties before they are vacant.”
