Raine & Horne Mollymook/Milton named best coastal office

Leading local property firm Raine & Horne Mollymook/Milton was named Raine & Horne’s Top Coastal Office in NSW, beating a swag of firms from northern coastal strongholds such as Terrigal and Avoca Beach on the Central Coast, and Nelsons Bay north of Newcastle.

In total, Raine & Horne Mollymook/Milton won five awards at the 2009 Raine & Horne NSW/ACT Chairman’s Awards, held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney on Saturday 27 February 2010.

The firm also finished eighth in the Top Office (number of sales) and fifth in the Top Office (dollar value) categories.

Raine & Horne Mollymook/Milton proprietor Ben Pryde said the awards were fantastic considering the challenges posed by the local property market in 2009.

“It gradually improved throughout the course of the year and certainly in the second half of the year it started moving a lot faster. The last six weeks of 2009 was fantastic,” Mr Pryde said.

Notable sales in 2009 included the record sale of the 12 ½ acre ocean front Dunes property at Ulladulla for $3 million, as well as the $1.85 million price tag achieved for a beachfront home at 2 Mitchell Parade, Mollymook.

This level of activity has continued in 2010, with the office making "a sale every day this year", according to Mr Pryde.

“We’ve got owner-occupiers, mostly retirees and baby boomers, moving to the area from Sydney and Canberra. People are also buying holiday homes and investments with buyers coming from Sydney, Canberra, and some locally.

“All the baby boomers are retiring from Canberra – there is a mass exodus from the Defence Force and public service.

In addition, Louise Monte grabbed an award as one of Raine & Horne’s best property managers, while receptionist Lyn Histon also won an award in the Outstanding Receptionist category.

“Louise shifted to property management from sales support and has a strong understanding of all of our systems so property management was an easy transition.

"Lyn has a bubbly personality and gets things done. She’s been with the form longer than most of the furniture. She loves the job and it shows," he said.
