Raine & Horne Neutral Bay spreads Christmas cheer with donation to the Reach Foundation

Media release - 12th December, 2012

North Shore office commits to helping young people

  • Raine & Horne Neutral Bay donates $5,000 to the Reach Foundation on behalf of their landlords and staff
  • The Reach Foundation promotes mental health to young people across 600 schools nationwide
  • Vacancy rates in Neutral Bay at 2.7%
  • One and two bedroom apartments in high demand for buyers in 2013

Raine & Horne Neutral Bay principals, Stewart Robertson, Hamish Kyle and David Buttel, have delivered an early Christmas present of $5,000 to youth support group Reach Foundation on behalf of the firm’s staff and their landlords.

“Ordinarily, we would have used this $5,000 to purchase a small Christmas gift for our landlords to say thank you for being a valued member of the Raine & Horne Neutral Bay family,” said Mr Robertson.

“However, this year we thought the money would be better spent making a difference to the lives of young people with a donation to the Reach Foundation.”

Founded by the late AFL player, Jim Stynes, the Reach Foundation promotes mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people aged between 10 and 18 on a variety of programs, across 600 schools and communities throughout Australia.

Reach also supports teens who have been bullied, are self-harming or are underperforming at school.

“As fathers of teenage children ourselves, we often hear about the problems and dire situations that many young people find themselves in as they enter adulthood,” said Mr Robertson.

“The donated money will go a long way to growing Reach’s support programs as well as creating safe spaces for young people to socialise.”

When Mr Robertson recently alerted Raine & Horne Neutral Bay’s landlords of the intent to donate the $5,000 gift, he said the response was overwhelming.

“We received a number of emails approving of our initiative. Some of our landlords are even encouraging us to make this donation an annual event.”

“We at Raine & Horne Neutral Bay would like to thank all of our landlords for their generosity and Christmas spirit.”

It’s therefore fitting that Raine & Horne Neutral Bay’s generous landlords will be rewarded in 2013.

“With vacancy rates in Neutral Bay sitting at just 2.7%, landlords will have their stockings filled with quality tenants in the New Year,” said Mr Robertson.

“Moreover, one and two bedroom apartments at the affordable end of the market are extremely popular with buyers at the moment, which will no doubt inspire some landlords to sell in 2013.”
