Raine & Horne opens new office in Mooloolaba

Leading property group Raine and Horne has added to its growing list of Queensland offices by opening an office at Mooloolaba, with local mother and daughter team Irene Frost and Shelley Plummer at the helm.

Raine & Horne Mooloolaba is operating from 177 Brisbane Road Mooloolaba, and is providing real estate sales and property management services.

Irene’s background is in business and office management, while daughter Shelley has a wealth of real estate experience, having previously worked at Raine & Horne Arana Hills and Raine & Horne Mooloolaba.

Shelley was at Raine & Horne Arana Hills from 1995 to 2000 and was rated among Raine & Horne’s top five sales reps in Queensland.

In late 2000, Shelley and her husband relocated to Mooloolaba where she was employed by Raine & Horne Mooloolaba for 12 months.

“Wanting to spend more time with my children, I ended up taking a break from real estate in 2001 and went into a career in advertising,” she said.

Now that Shelley’s children are older, the property ace decided the time was right to return to real estate, a decision which coincided with Irene’s suggestion that they should go into business together.

The dynamic duo knew they wanted to be a part of a franchise and with Shelley’s experience, joining Raine & Horne was the clear-cut choice.

“We have been so busy since we opened in early May, it’s been wonderful,” Irene said.

“We are getting more enquiries from owner occupiers wanting to move to the Sunshine Coast, with many of these enquiries coming from Brisbane.

“We get quite a few sea changers from the country, but also there are people wanting to move from the coast to the country on the border of the Sunshine Coast."

Home owners are attracted to Mooloolaba by the region’s property diversity, which includes high end properties on the canal and waterfront as well as more modest homes.

“It’s possible to purchase a house or unit in Mooloolaba for between approximately $250,000 and more than $2 million, depending on location,” Shelley said.

This diversity is also reflected in Mooloolaba’s rental returns which range from $275 up to $1200 per week.

Acreages in and around Mooloolaba can also vary in price, depending on factors such as location, acreage size, whether roads are sealed and access to town water.

Recently, Raine & Horne Mooloolaba had several acreage listings, ranging between $340,000 and $1.5 million.

Raine & Horne CEO Angus Raine said he was excited by the prospect of once again working with Shelley Plummer and said he would like to welcome her back into the Raine & Horne fold.

“I’m sure that Shelley, Irene and their team will make a significant contribution to the property market on the Sunshine Coast,” he said.
