Raine & Horne set to make a mark in first home belt suburbs of Kallangur and Petrie

  • Raine & Horne Kallangur/Petrie to be led by husband and wife team, Rebecca and Paul McKay
  • Already a popular first home buyer and investor suburb, it’s expected the new railway station will make Kallangur more appealing to first time buyers and investors

Raine & Horne Kallangur/PetrieRaine & Horne is continuing to grow its presence in Queensland with the launch of a new office that will service the first home buyer strongholds of Kallangur and Petrie, in the Moreton Bay region, north of Brisbane.

Raine & Horne Kallangur/Petrie, which is located at 4/1387 Anzac Avenue, Kallangur, will be led by experienced real estate agent, Rebecca McKay, who will be ably supported by husband, Paul, a former member of the Australian Army.

“While we have not lived in the area for long as a couple, Paul purchased a property in Kallangur during a Brisbane posting some years ago, and knows the region very well,” said Mrs McKay, who has extensive real estate and body corporate experience spanning markets in Queensland – including Kallangur and Petrie – as well as Victoria, South Australia and Northern Territory.

“The timing for the new office is perfect with Kallangur about to be serviced by its own railway station.

“Currently, Kallangur residents must catch a train from nearby Petrie or Dakabin to take the 30 kilometre trip to the Brisbane CBD for work.

“We expect that this major infrastructure development will make Kallangur and Petrie even more appealing to first home buyers, who can buy older-style three bedroom homes in this region from a very affordable $350,000 on a 400 to 600 sqm block.”

Mrs McKay, who was courted by a number of other real estate networks, chose Raine & Horne because of the level of service delivered by the firm’s business support and development manager, David Bennett.

“I was introduced to David via a recruitment firm who tried to poach me for another sales job. However I expressed an interest in running my own business. The recruiter passed my CV to David and we went from there,” said Mrs McKay.

“From day one, David impressed as he was open and honest, while Raine & Horne’s suite of best practice technology, recruitment, marketing and systems and commitment to supporting us every step of the way, also helped make the decision in favour of the 131-year old family owned and operated firm an easy one.

“Working with Raine & Horne has made starting a real estate business much easier than if we were to start from scratch and I’m so happy to open the doors.”

Raine & Horne’s family links also appealed to the McKays.

“That Raine & Horne is still family-owned resonated with us, as we are a young family with two small boys.”

Joining Rebecca and Paul McKay will be local sales ace, Amanda Pearce.

“Amanda has a long history of selling property successfully in Kallangur. Together Amanda and I will drive our sales push, while I will be responsible for growing our property management business,” said Mrs McKay.
