Raine & Horne Terrigal & Avoca earn prestigious awards

Leading Central Coast property firm Raine & Horne Terrigal & Avoca won several awards at the 2009 Raine & Horne NSW/ACT Chairman’s Awards, held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney on Saturday 27 February 2010.

Leading the way was proprietor Garth Hunter, who grabbed fourth place in the hotly contested Top Salesperson (number of sales) category, while he finished among the top ten Raine & Horne agents based on the dollar value of his sales.

General Manager Brett Hunter said this was a significant victory for Garth, as he had finished ahead of about 1000 agents in NSW & ACT.

“Garth is an exceptionally good negotiator and works hard to secure a sale,” said Brett, who along with Garth won a Chairman’s Club award for his sales results and service to the Raine & Horne brand.

Marketing support, Tina Lakes, also collected an award for Outstanding Corporate Support, while Helen Roebuck scored a gong as an Outstanding Property Manager.

“Tina does all our marketing, which has taken on a new lease of life. We are attracting more buyers and as a result the whole team is more successful,” said Brett.

“Likewise Helen has been involved in our successful holiday letting business for 15 years and has built strong relationships with landlords and holiday makers alike.”

As for the outlook for 2010, Brett said there were several positive themes that would underpin Central Coast property.

“We have turned the corner and the internet will become the driving force for buyers and sellers. Online technology is catching up for sellers, so they can see how many people have visited their property online and they have more information about buyers.

Another important trend relates to the relationship between the supply of quality homes and buyer demand.

“Most suburbs on the Central Coast now have more buyers than sellers. This is great news for homeowners and landlords. It's a big turn around from six months ago where we had more properties than buyers.

As a result of buyer demand, days on market have fallen from 80 days at the end of 2009 to 54 days. “It was as high as 160 days this time last year.

“The only issue we have is more interest rate rises after the RBA moved this week to increase rates by 25 basis points, but buyer demand should more than absorb further interest rate pressures.”
