Raine & Horne to be central player in Logan’s thriving investment market

Media release - 7th June, 2016

Superbrand Raine & Horne has launched a new office in the Logan City region south of Brisbane, after agreeing to terms with Bindi, Debby and David Follington from leading local independent real estate firm, Logan Now.

Raine & Horne Logan City will continue to operate from the distinctive freestanding A-frame building on busy Wembley Road, Logan Central and will service the markets of Logan Central, Kingston and Crestmead.

“Around 80% of our buyers are interstate investors, which is central to our decision to link with a widely recognised real estate brand such as Raine & Horne,” said Bindi Follington.

Raine & Horne Logan Central“Many of our customers are from Sydney and Melbourne where Raine & Horne has a very strong following.”

Ms Follington said that Logan Central’s real estate affordability and competitive rental yields were attracting strong interstate interest.

“The median house price in Logan Central is $295,000 with many properties achieving rental yields of between 5% and 6%. These numbers stack up favourably against median prices and rental yields in Sydney and Melbourne.”

Logan’s proximity to Brisbane and the Gold Coast is crucial to the region’s popularity with investors, according to Ms Follington.

“Investors have the choice of flying into Brisbane and the Gold Coast when visiting our region, which is a significant appeal.”

Ms Follington, who has worked in real estate in Brisbane and Logan City for the past decade, said meeting with some of Raine & Horne’s senior executives influenced her decision to swap to the famous charcoal and gold colours.

“When I met with the Raine & Horne corporate staff, they were very professional but also very easy-going and relatable for me,” she said.

“I’ve dealt regularly with Business Support and Development Manager Sheryl Turnell, who has been in the office helping with the transition on a weekly basis, and CEO Brian Reid who flew up from Sydney to meet me in person. I’ve spoken to Angus Raine too.

“I know the systems and technology Raine & Horne have in place, coupled with the ongoing training it offers, will be invaluable to a new business owner like me.”

Angus Raine, Executive Chairman, Raine & Horne, is delighted that Ms Follington has made the switch to the 133-year-old, family owned and operated business.

“Bindi grew up in a real estate family and from the age of 12 was helping her mum Debby on Saturday mornings doing filing and archiving,” said Mr Raine.

“She’s also lived in Logan City the majority of her life and therefore knows the real estate market like the back of her hand.

“Bricks and mortar is in Bindi’s blood and linking with Raine & Horne will help her and the team at Raine & Horne Logan City to market more properties to a bigger pool of interstate investors, which is great news for local property owners considering a real estate sale.”
