Real estate a rewarding career option: Raine & Horne

Leading real estate firm Raine & Horne firm has responded to media reports that recruits are leaving the industry, with a careers information night in Brisbane on 27 July, 2011.

The event, aimed at aspiring real estate agents and franchisees, will be held at Raine & Horne’s corporate office at Unit 8, Airlink, 469 Nudgee Road, Hendra.

Raine & Horne CEO Angus Raine said it had been a challenging year for real estate, with natural disasters and soaring living costs affecting consumer confidence.

“However there are always challenges, and no matter what the state of the property market, people will continue to have housing needs which are dependent on constantly changing family and/or employment situations," Mr Raine said.

“As a consequence, there is always a demand for quality real estate agents, while helping people achieve their property dreams is an exciting and rewarding career that has virtually no income ceiling.”

Mr Raine warned that new recruits must seek plenty of advice and weigh up the benefits and costs, before deciding on a career in real estate.

“Real estate is not a career for everyone and you won’t be successful unless you make a full-time commitment.

“A successful career in property involves sacrifices and plenty hard work after hours and on weekends, but the reward usually compensates the sacrifice.

The Raine & Horne CEO agreed that the best real estate agents must be prepared to meet high personal and business expectations.

“Real estate agents must meet minimum new business targets, while listing and selling homes are the primary objectives,” he said.

“At Raine & Horne we also provide our agents with the best training in our management systems and IT support.”

Raine & Horne Business Support & Development Joanna Boyd said successful agents must love working with people, helping them in the sale and purchase of a property, and building relationships.

“Raine & Horne is focused on growth and seeks professionals interested in applying for a career in real estate sales, or wanting to own a real estate franchise," Ms Boyd said.

“Aspiring agents and franchisees will have sales experience, not necessarily in real estate, and a proven sales history."
