Win a solar panel system valued at $8,000 and cut your annual electricity bill by over $1,000

Media release - 18th September, 2012

Chance for WA residents to support green energy

  • Raine & Horne offices in Western Australia, in conjunction with Solar-E, are giving away a fully installed 3-kilowatt solar panel system to one winner valued at $8,000
  • Households could save over $1,000 a year on energy bills by switching to solar power
  • Government estimates say household electrical bills in WA will rise by 9.1% in 2012/13

Rising household electrical costs and the introduction of the carbon tax have prompted leading real estate group Raine & Horne to host a promotion that will award one lucky Western Australian resident a solar panel system and installation worth $8,000.

“This promotion is a united initiative from all Raine & Horne offices across the state,” explains Rae O’Neill, Business Support and Development Manager for Raine & Horne.

The promotion is open to all Western Australian residents, and participants simply need to register their details at any Raine & Horne office in WA, or at rh.com.au/wa, to enter into the draw.

Ms O’Neill, who suggests a solar panel system can potentially increase the value of a property by as much as 5%, says Raine & Horne’s WA offices are enthusiastic about the promotion.

“At Raine & Horne we want to do our bit by encouraging our clients and customers to get involved in supporting green energy, as well as combating the increasing cost of electricity.”

Graham Thomas, director of government certified solar supplier and installation firm, Solar-E, is urging Western Australian residents to support the promotion.

“We were quite eager to be a part of this promotion as it is a great opportunity for Solar-E to work with a well-respected and recognisable brand in Raine & Horne.”

“With the inception of the carbon tax on 1 July 2012, many people are feeling the pinch of rising energy prices, and Raine & Horne and Solar-E want to help ease the burden on our clients with a fun promotion,” says Mr Thomas, who notes a solar panel system can cut a household’s power bill substantially.

“The three kilowatt system offered as the prize for this promotion could potentially save a household over $1,000 a year in electricity costs, based on WA’s Clean Energy Council (CEC) calculations,” Mr Thomas adds.

With the Federal Government estimating that the price of electricity in Western Australia will rise by 9.1% in 2012/13 as a direct result of the carbon tax, a solar panel system could go a long way towards alleviating this expense.[i]

The promotion kicked off across Raine & Horne’s Western Australian offices on 10th September 2012 and closes on 31st October 2012, with the winner drawn on 2nd November 2012.

If you would like to enter, contact your local Raine & Horne office in Western Australia to register your details, or visit rh.com.au.
